Regional division of Human rights organization “Amnesty International” of Nootdorp (Netherlands) on December, 10 in Universal Human rights day mail-listed public letter to Alexandr Lukashenko. Human right defenders expressed their hope that head of the state will make situation with disappeared politicians clear.

Distributing of special issue of newspaper “Barysauskiya naviny” has been held for some days. 5 ZUBR activists that were spreading the newspaper were arrested. On December, 7 zubr was arrested in Zhodino. On December, 9 two ZUBR activists were arrested in Borisov and two more in Krupki.

Representatives of unregistered Belarusian human rights organizations urge the Belarusian authorities to dismiss the Commission for registration of NGOs and to start developping a new law on NGOs. NGO representatives claim that the commission “performs the functions of political censorship” and consists of representatives of KGB, Ministry of Justice, Security Council and other law enforcement agencies. It has reportedly been operating secretly, and representatives of the NGOs in question are not admitted to its hearings. Moreover, the dates of its sessions have been kept secret as well.

Picket of zubrs in Novopolotsk lasted about an hour. It was dedicated to Universal Human rights day. 15 zubrs with portraits of Gennady Karpenko, Victor Gonchar, Anatoly Krasovsky, Dmitry Zavadsky and Andrey Zaytsev stayed near one of the biggest shops of the town. Action attracted attention of police officers, but there was no detentions.
