Three Representatives of Political Parties Elected into Mogilev Region’s Electoral Commissions’ Make-Up 11:32, 12/12/2002
Mogilev region finished the process of forming 221 territorial electoral commissions on the elections into the local councils of the 24th convocation. The electoral commissions include 1,982 people. Out of them the political parties are represented by three persons, while public organizations – by 27. In particular, the regional electoral commission will include representative of the Liberal-Democratic Party, Mogilev electoral commission – chairman of the Party of Communists of Belarus, Krasnopolskk district commission – member of the Communist party of Belarus.
BelaPAN reports that public organizations of all levels are represented in the electoral bodies by representatives from the Belarusian national youth union (4 people), association of veterans (3) and trade union association (20). The majority of members of electoral commissions – 1,517 were nominated by citizens via the application submission procedure, 378 – appointed by the labor collectives, 57 – by the executive commissions and councils of various levels. There are no representatives of democratic parties in the electoral commissions at all.
