Lebedko to Sue KGB on December 27 16:52, 23/12/2002, UCP press-service
On December at 2p.m. the court of the Central district of Minsk will host hearings on the lawsuit of the United Civil Party chair Anatoly Lebedko to the KGB of Belarus. The leader of UCP intends to appeal in court against the official warning, issued to him on November 5 this year.
Here’s Anatoly Lebedko’s commentary on the forthcoming judicial process: “Something that happened is a blatant political schizophrenia. And as far as the pathogenic organism of this illness dwells in the very system, its virus is easily spread around all branches of power. So, on December 27 we will get an opportunity to diagnose our judiciary too. The very text of the warning is a document of a fantastic force. It dispels the illusions of western politicians and parliamentarians, which they harbored towards the Belarusian authorities. I suppose, followed by signatures of the Supreme Court’s members, it will ruin the hopes of those, who still believe that there’s an independent judiciary in Belarus”.
