Formation of the joint venture “Moscow plant of alcohol-free beer” by the “Ochakovo” brewery and Brest beer producer remains in the air but hasn’t been yet settled down due to the position of the official Minsk. BelaPAN quotes PR-manager of the “Ochakovo” company Galina Grekova as saying that despite the fact that the agreement on intentions with the Slutsk brewery had been signed three years ago and with the Brest plant – last year, one cannot really speak of any progress whatsoever at this stage. “Seemingly, there are certain aspects in your state system, which hinder positive situation development,” – assumes Grekova.
President of the “Ochakovo” company Aleksei Kochetov intended to visit the Brest brewery in February this year, but had to delay it from the vague position of the Brest regional authorities, concerning “Ochakovo’s” investments and plant’s privatization. “Ochakovo’s” leaders require ownership of 85% of stock as the mandatory condition for investments. In its turn, the company pledges to invest 20-25mln dollars into the reconstruction of the plant’s capacities in order to enhance the beer production volume by the year 2006 to 5mln deciliters.
“Moscow alcohol-free beer producer “Ochakovo” is one of Russia’s leading breweries. The company is listed among the three top Russian beer-making plants, producing over 100 different beverages of 8 different types. The company’s products have won 100 international and Russian awards.
