Aviation Dispatchers’ Trade Unions Complains to ILO
12:54, 03/02/2003

The Belarusian trade union of aviation dispatchers, member of the Belarusian Congress of democratic trade unions, intends to file a complaint to the ILO, in addition to the one, submitted in 2000, over the state’s interference in their trade union’s sovereign affairs.

If you remember, Minsk transport procuracy took interest in the trade union’s activities. According to the organization’s president Yuri Migutsky, the Justice Ministry reported to the procuracy that there occurred violations during the trade union’s re-registration in 1999: the trade union lacks enough members to get registered as the national one. Procuracy demanded to present the lists of trade union members, enrolled at the moment of re-registration in 1999. To this claim Yuri Migutsky objected that all the proper documentation is stored in the Justice Ministry’s archives, where one can familiarize with them.

According to the head of the aviation dispatchers’ trade union, this is a flagrant intervention into trade union’s internal affairs.
