Most of candidates from parties were not registered

On Wenesday head of Central election commission Lidia Yermoshina published results of registration of candidates to local sovets. On press-conference she informed that 26 thousand candidates. About 800 were not registered. Maximal quantity of denies – 46 % was among candidates to Minsk city sovet. As Ermoshina said most of candidates were not registered because of presenting doubtful declarations of income and property. One third of candidates from political parties were not registered.

There were 1,033 applicants from political parties. 693 were registered. Among them: from Liberal Democratic Party – 184 candidates, Party of Communists Belarusan – 173, Communist party of Belarus – 114, Belarusan social-democratic party “Narodnaya Gromada” – 69, United civil party – 54, Party BPF – 50, Agrarian party – 7, Belarusan party of Labor – 4, Social-sport party – 2.

In his interview to “Deutche Welle” leader of UCP Anatoly Lebedko declared that high level of denies in registration did not surprise him. “Only 10-15 % of denies were caused by our mistakes, -- says Lebedko – power is responcible for the rest of them. As Lebedko said, what is happening now – is not elections.

At that very time delegation of special PA OSCE group headed by Uta Zapf came to Belarus. As it is marked, process of Local elections will by one of the topics of the visit.
