Kremlin deceived Lukashenko twice
12:59, 07/02/2003, Elena Shishkunova, Gazeta.ru

Since 15 of February citizens of other countries (including Belarusns) that come to Russia will have to fill in migration cards. Two weeks ago Putin promised to Lukashenko that Belarusans will not need this cards.
It is known now that there will not be exceptions for Belarusans.

There will not be exceptions even for Belarusans that are already in Russia. They will have to get cards like other foreigners. Microchip of the card will contain all the data of cardholder.

New migration cards for Belarusans is violation of Moscow’s promise to protect belarusans from new migration restrictions.

It isn’t known why Moscow changed its opinion. Maybe this control measure is temporary and it will be canceled after creating of new “union state”.

But migration card will contain chip with personal data of card owner. Belarusans will not be able to find job in Russia without the card. It means that Minsk and Moscow have different views on integration process.

This is the second time when Kremlin breaks promise that Belarusans will be protected from migration restrictions. Both times the promise was given on the highest level. That is why official Minsk will apprehend this actions as an insulting call.

So, Belarusans are foreigners in “union” Russia.

Head of Russian migration service and vice-minister of inner affairs Andrey Chernenko denied statement made by his boss Boris Gryzlov. As informs RIA “News” Belarusans do not need and will not need migration cards. Belarusan citizens will be registered on their written appeal for 90 days with possibility of prolongation. As Chernenko marked, migration service executed president’s order and created “possibility for forming common migration field with Belarus”.
