People’s March “For Better Life!” Preceded by Apprehensions

Five ZUBR activists were apprehended on February 14-16 for pasting flyers with People’s March “For Better Life!” logos. On February 14 Veronika Kupchenko, Pavel Yuhnevich, Aleksei Levkovich and Evgeny Afnagel were gluing the flyers near Nemiga, when they got detained at approximately 8p.m. by the law-enforcers armed with machine-guns.

The young people were delivered to the Moskovsky district police of Minsk. Policemen seized from them 37 flyers and some stickers. Afnagel and Yuhnevich faced police protocol under art.143 of the Administrative code: “littering”. At 11p.m. all four were set free.

ZUBR activist Sergei R. was captured for gluing the stickers February 15 night. The guys spent four hours in the Central district police station, where they charged him with littering too.
