Irina Krasovskaya Blames Lukashenko Over Cynicism :: Charter'97 :: News

At the meeting with the Interior Ministry officials Alexander Lukashenko drew their attention to the fact that the whereabouts of over a thousand missing Belarusian nationals remain unknown. The wife of the disappeared Belarusian businessman and public figure Anatoly Krasovsky Irina Krasovskaya called his words cynic.

“That’s an awful cynicism on his part for there are plenty of institutions in our country, responsible for the human rights in Belarus. If they can’t locate four famous Belarusians, that testifies to their amateurishness, while we know for sure that they are real professionals. In other words, the authorities simply don’t want them to find the missing ones, for, as had been proven in the past, they themselves are implicated in abductions,” – said Anatoly Krasovsky’s wife in an interview to Radio Svaboda.

Moreover, according to Irina Krasovskaya, the cases of Zakharenko, Krasovsky, Zavadsky and Gonchar can’t be paralleled to other similar ones. “When the regime’s opponents go missing, suspicions always fall on the regime in power,” – deems Irina Krasovskaya.
