NEWS  Belarusians Can’t Afford Basic Things 12:09, 24/02/2003 51% of Belarusian residents couldn’t afford buying the most necessary foodstuffs last year. The surveyed people said that in course of the poll, conducted on January 20-30 by the sociological service of the Central committee of the Belarusian Party of Communists. 4thsd respondents, aged 18 and over, answered the questionnaire. 61% of the polled frequently couldn’t buy clothes, 44% had to often give up medical treatment and pills, reports BelaPAN. At the same time 38% of respondents seldom didn’t buy foodstuffs they needed, 30% - necessary clothes and 35% - medical treatment and medications. 11% never experienced problems with nutrition, 9% - with clothes and 21% with medical treatment.  TOPIC LINKS  For the Future of Our Children!
