CIS Heads of States to Rendezvous on May 30 in Saint-Petersburg 12:51, 27/02/2003
Another informal meeting of the CIS heads of states is scheduled for May 30 in Saint-Petersburg, Russian media quote Russian Vice-Premier Valentina Matvienko as saying. This information was confirmed to BelaPAN in the CIS executive committee in Minsk.
Informal CIS summit will turn into one of the key events within the framework of 300th anniversary of Saint-Petersburg. According to Matvienko, the presidents will assemble on a ship in the Neva river. The last time they got together in informal surrounding was in Kiev in late January.
In total, presidents of 45 states are invited to visit the city’s jubilee, which will become an absolutely unprecedented case in the world history. The US delegation, which is supposed to land in Saint-Petersburg on 6 planes, will include 700 persons, not counting bodyguards and personnel.
