NEWS  Baghdad Mayor Sent to Minsk By Saddam Himself 11:07, 05/03/2003 Baghdad mayor Adnan Abed Khamed arrived yesterday night to Minsk. In the airport he said that his visit to Belarus was a personal order of Saddam Hussein. According to Khamed, “that demonstrates the Iraqi leader’s respect for the Belarusian nation. The mayor underscored that Belarusian citizens support Baghdad and Iraq in this “troublesome hour of an undeclared war”. The delegation arrived in Minsk upon invitation of Minsk mayor Mikhail Pavlov and will commence its visit on Wednesday, March 5. RIA “Novosti” was told in the Minsk city hall that the visit’s agenda includes the Iraqi guests’ meeting with the Minsk mayor Pavlov.
