Anatoly Lebedko Sues KGB Again 11:09, 05/03/2003, UCP press-service
On Thursday, March 6, at 2p.m. the Minsk city court will host hearings on UCP leader Anatoly Lebedko’s appeal against the illicit KGB official reprimand.
As you remember, on January 23 the court of the Central district of Minsk recognized unjustified the lawsuit, filed by the leader of the United Civil party Anatoly Lebedko against KGB’s arbitrariness. Politician, in his turn, demanded to nullify the official reprimand, passed against him by KGB on November 5, 2002. Its text read that Lebedko maintained confidential contacts with the foreign surveillance.
The politician called the case hearing “inquisition rather than fair trial”. According to him, the complaint hadn’t been dealt with as it should have been. “The court didn’t represent a single proof of my possible high treason, which could serve as a basis for passing the reprimand,” – said he. The jury, deems Lebedko, passed its verdict “upon the command from above”.
