Russian Ambassador Dislikes Privatization Conditions in Belarus 11:31, 10/03/2003
For the time being, privatization conditions of the Belarusian large industrial companies aren’t at all attractive for the Russian business, said at the March 7 press-conference the plenipotentiary ambassador of Russian Federation in Belarus Alexander Blokhin. According to him, the privatization process at the Belarusian companies, involving Russian capital, is really complicated.
The Russian diplomat commented on the current situation in the following way: “There used to be numerous statements on the matter. Alexander Lukashenko, for instance, used to say that they will come up with the minimal demands to the participants, and they will be selected according to their ability to meet those demands. However, there’s a problem with that. First and foremost, what kind of requirements will they be? If they are too high, many will simply be unable to take that height.
