“Belvneshpromservice”: Arms Sales to Asia, Middle East Very Lucrative 11:34, 12/03/2003
The most favorable for the Belarusian arms traders are the markets of Asia and Middle East, as well as the South American one, said in an exclusive interview to “Interfax” the director general of the exterior trade company “Belvneshprombank” Alexander Andron.
According to the man, the company is carrying out export and import operations of goods of the military, special and twofold use, as well as fixes and modernized military machinery, engineering, construction and industrial manufacture.
The director of the company assumes that in the sphere of arms and ammunition trade Belarus may well take a worthy place at the world’s arms market. In this connection he pointed out the necessity to raise the volumes of arms manufacture, for right now they mostly sell goods from the already produced reserves, stored at the warehouses.
He also stressed that in his opinion the large trade companies in arms and military technologies sphere enjoy by far greater opportunities at the international markets than the separate manufacturers, which are independently seeking for partners abroad.
