Belarus’ plenipotentiary ambassador in USA, former country’s Foreign Minister Mikhail Khvostov set en route to Washington today, “Interfax” was told in the Belarusian Foreign Ministry. Khvostov had been appointed Belarus’ ambassador in USA and Mexico on March 21, 2003 by Lukashenko.

"Rosoboronexport" Represents Full Spectrum of Arms, Manufactured in Russia

The whole spectrum of arms and ammunition, manufactured by Russia, is exhibited at the “MILEX-2003” exhibition, run in Minsk by the state corporation “Rosoboronexport”. Upon the decision of the Russian government, the company acted as the organizer of a unique Russian exposition. Among the samples of the military equipment, with which the visitors can familiarize themselves, there are destroyer MiG-29CMT, armored personnel carriers BTR-80A, BTR-90, tanks T-90C and T-80Y, various electronic devices.

"Ratusha" Runs into Trouble

Grodno University refused to get free printing machine, donated to it by the “Ratusha” public association. “Ratusha” itself can be shut down for that. They had preliminarily reached an agreement on the printing device and prepared special documents of ownership. However, all of a sudden the University lawyer Alexander Vasilenko declared that they wouldn’t accept it. He referred to the decision of the first pro-rector Evgeny Rovba.

Leonid Maltsev: No United Army with Russia So Far

Opposition’s New Arrests

Eight activists of the Young Front showed up at the central Oktyabrskaya square of Minsk with white-red-white flags and banners, demonstrating discontent over the 1995 referendum, which changed the state symbols of Belarus, endowing the Russian language with an official status. The YF members unfurled their flags and a banner “No to referendum and occupation!”
