"Live corridor" of Lyceum defenders 10:50, 01/08/2003
On July 31 at 8.30 the group of Lyceum students and their parents, just like a day before, came to the building of city educational administration of Minsk executive committee. About 50 persons raised the banners with the following slogans: ‘ The only Belarusian Lyceum is being liquidated’, “Belarusian future to the Belarusian Lyceum”, “Let us study” and other. They created the “live corridor” to see the officials who hamper the Lyceum’s functioning.
None of the officials wanted to meet the crowd, but the passers-by readily signed in the defense of Lyceum. - -54 signs were collected.
Then the Oktiabrsky district police headed by the deputy director of city police colonel Vorobiov came on place. The police however didn’t find out any occasions to arrest the picketers.
