Kozak calls to create coalition of government and opposition :: Charter'97 :: News

The former American ambassador in Belarus Micahel Kozak gave numerous interviews to Belarusian press before he left the country. In one of the interview he called upon to create in Belarus coalition of government and opposition.

“First of all the initiative must issue from Belarusian citizens themselves. The politicians of the incumbent government as well as the politicians from the democratic opposition have to formulate the concrete strategies and programs how to achieve the aims people are pursuing. It’s not enough just to cry some slogans or list the abuses and mistakes of the present regime. You need a realistic plan how to change for the better and leaders that would be able to create the coalition in order to embody it. The gifted state functionaries should overcome their paralysis”, - Michael Kozak said in the interview for Belarusian issue of Russian newspaper “Izvestija” in which the whole text of his speech is presented.
