The “Free Belarus Bloc”-affiliated structure was set up over the past weekend in Borisov. It attracted activists of most opposition parties and public organizations, represented in the town, along with the local famous personalities. As recorded in the decision of its founding assembly, its participants “are ready to actively promote democratic ideals by all legitimate and constitutional ways possible, regardless of their belonging to any party or principles of personal independence from any party”.
The Committee for the defense of the National Humanities Lyceum appeals for support to the Belarusian nationals, living in their home country and abroad. Their address reads that “the Lyceum exists and will exist, despite constant attempts of certain officials to annihilate this educational institution, which brings up true Belarusians rather than Soviet-minded Russians”.
Baranovichi newspaper “Shag” will be published in Russia, BelaPAN was told by the newspaper’s editor-in-chief Anatoly Voitekhovsky. Expectedly, the first issue, published abroad, will see light in Belarus in late August – early September. The Belarusian authorities deported German national Jan Bush for allegedly undermining the state system. The Belarusian television reported in a Sunday night air that Bush was the second person in the “Young socialists” group and a “classic subversive element”.

As “Interfax” was told by the Libyan sources, the draft credit agreement between the government of Belarus and the Libyan Bank had been approved at the top level, being ready for signing.
