The regional association of the National TV Company denied famous Gomel journalist, member of the Belarusian Association of Journalists Alexander Shkut a right to produce the Sunday program “Good evening” (Dobry Vechar).
“Dobry Vechar” is a 30-minutes long on-air program. As is known, not every professional journalist can work on-air. And so the program’s editorial board proposed the role of the anchorman to Alexander Shkut, famous for his work as a correspondent for the “Znamya Yunosti” newspaper and some independent projects.
The first and only program by Alexander Shkut appeared on air on Sunday, August 17. On August 19 the man was told that the regional television doesn’t need him in this capacity anymore. According to the information, unconfirmed by the TV sources, deputy head of the information department of the Gomel regional executive committee Evgeny Mitkevich personally demanded to replace the presenter.
