“BDG” Due to Reopen Later in the Week 11:15, 02/09/2003, “KP in Belarus”
On August 29 there expired the suspension term of the “Belorusskaya Delovaya Gazeta”. However, its further fate remains still unclear. We called the newspaper’s editor-in-chief Petr Martsev. “We are preparing the new issue and there are no prohibitory documents to that. On Tuesday we intend to print the “Novaya Gazeta”, while on Wednesday and Friday “BDG” will hopefully see light in the previous format. The newspaper will get published in Smolensk, as far as despite the one-year contract with the old publishing house, they still refuse to print us due to the oral instructions of the Ministry. Nonetheless, despite the oral ban, we hope that the newspaper will be accepted for dissemination,” – said the publisher of “BDG”.
