UN Committee for Human rights found that rights of famous Belarusan lawyer professor Mihail Pastuhov’s were violated while his dismissal from position of Constitution court judge. In response of Committee for Human rights it is said that Pastuhov was dismissed from position of Constitution court judge few years before term on which he was elected ended. Committee stated that it was an offence on independence of courts and violation of right on defence in court.
Belarus will buy gas from Gasprom under price USD 50 for thousand cubic meters. Under “Interfax” information this agreement was achieved during negotiations in Moskow on 24-25 of September. “Beltransgas” informed that next year “Gasprom” will deliver 10,2 billion cubic meters of gas to Belarus under this price. Belarusan side tells that price of Russian gas transit through Belarusan territory will increase proportionally.
Belarusan council of democratic trade unions addressed to Minsk executive committee with appeal to permit them picketing against suppressing democratic trade unions and against mass violation of worker’s rights. Independent union of miners also appealed to permit them picketing near “council of representatives” on 10 of October. Decision about protest actions was taken on 22 of September by Belarusan council of democratic trade unions. “Rights of trade unions are violated in Belarus. Arrest of DCDTU president Aleksandr Yaroshuk is an example of it,” – said vice-president of Belarusan council of democratic trade unions Nikolay Kanah.
“Gasprom” offered Belarus to buy Russian gas for the price USD 80 for 1000 cubic meters. This conditions have been offered of Thursday during negotiations in Moskow. Chairman of “Gasprom” council Alexey Miller and director of “Beltransgas” Petr Petuh were participating in negotiations. In year 2003 price for gas was about USD 30 for 1000 cubic meters. The offered price is higher than price of gas for Ukraine (USD 50) and even for Baltic countries. As it became known Belarusan side did not give answer on this offer. They took “time-out for its preparation”. Belarus already owes 120 million dollars. That is why Belarusan economy will fail if new prices will be accepted.
More than 50% of Belarusan entrepreneurs took part in national strike that was carried out on 25 of September on information of National Strike Commeettee of entrepreneurs. As said Valery Levonevsky entrepreneurs of Grodno, Vitebsk, Brest, Mogilev, Gomel, Polotsk, Novopolotsk, Pinsk, Novogrudok, Baranovitchty, Zelva, Borisov, Orsha, Molodechno, Lida, Volkovysk, Slonim, Bobruysk and other towns were the most active. 60-90% of entrepreneurs took participated in strike there.
