The Minsk Jewish Community House hosted a meeting of the international "round table" on 22 October, which discussed educational questions of Holocaust history, commemoration of Jewish victims of the Nazis and commemoration of righteous Gentiles. The event was organized by the union of Belarusian Jewish organizations and communities and was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the massacre in the Minsk ghetto.
Leanid Maltsev, the Minister of Defense of Belarus, called the decisions of the recent joined panel of the Ministries of Defense of Russia and Belarus “the next working step towards strengthening the regional alliance, as well as facing military and technical issues, the military and scientific provision of our united efforts, and promoting them legislatively and legally.” Moreover, he said that Belarus would normally react to the possible wish of its citizens to serve on a contractual basis in the Russian Army.

The Kastrychnitski district court in Minsk rejected a lawsuit filed by the former director of the joint-stock society Belarusian Stock Exchange Bank, Pavel Dzik, against the editorial board of Belorusskaya Delovaya Gazeta (the Marat company) and journalist Syarhey Satsuk on 21 October. The reason for the suit on the protection of honour, dignity and business reputation was the article entitled "The investigation keeps the bank" published by the newspaper on 14 August 2002. (Satsuk wrote in his article that Dzik had signed a contract, in accordance with which the bank transferred 14.7m dollars offshore).
