On November 24 seventeen people were detained for the participation in the action against Lukashenka’s third presidential term. Nine of them have not reached the age and only six are adults. Yauhen Skochka said to the police that he was at the action as a journalist and even showed his ID. Nevertheless, he was detained by the order of the Deputy Chairman of Savetsky District Division of Internal Affairs Yauhen Hurankow. Mr. Skochka was held for about 3 hours in a cell and then he was freed, reports Radio Freedom.

According to the official reports, on November 23 after the repeated elections in Belaazersk the representatives of the democratic opposition lost the majority in the local city council. However, the observers doubt the proclaimed results and say that the elections were not completed at some polls.

Dear President, The messages we hear from within Belarus could give us the impression that the policy of your government aims at a kind of oppression of the opposition and silencing the media that do not wholly follow the directives of the authorities and so at the end or at least a great damage of democracy.
