NEWS  Aksana Novikava Fined 12:11, 19/01/2004 On January 16 Aksana Novikava, sentenced in April 2003 to a suspended term in a criminal case for insult of Alyaksandar Lukashenka, was fined 250 basic values, human rights center “Viasna” informs. On January 16 Aksana Novikava was summoned to court of the Soviet district of Minsk for legal investigation relating her detention on November 24 in Minsk during the protest against possible referendum on prolongation of Lukashenka’s presidency. 17 protesters were arrested on that day. In the evening they were released and got summons to court.
