Human rights activist got summons 15:51, 29/01/2004
On January 24 journalist and human rights activist Natalia Kaliada got a summons from the Central Court. The summons reads that Kaliada must come to the court on February 2, at 3 pm. The trial case was launched on the basis of the decree signed by the general prosecutor’s assistant Kupriyanov. On January 28 the journalist went through the documents on starting the administrative case on Article 167-10(activity on behalf of non-registered political parties, trade unions or public associations). Natalia Kaliada is accused of “the participation in organizing the activity” of the civil initiative Charter`97 site and monitoring of human rights’ violations. As far as monitoring is concerned, the office of public prosecutor did not like such articles as “accidental arrests, detentions and exiles”, “the rejection of just court examination” and the list of those violating human rights.
