“Basics of Ideology” Introduced In Belarusian Universities 12:54, 05/02/2004
A new branch of science was introduced in Belarusian universities. The course “Basics of Belarusian Ideology” is to last for 24 hours and consists of 16 lectures and 8 seminars. Students are to study it during the second half-year and to pass a test.
As the head of the sector of social sciences in the Ministry of Education, Nadzieja Hanuschenka said to the reporter of ITAR-TASS, professors of the new course of lectures have gone through a thorough training in the Academy of administration by the President of Belarus and in the Republican Institute of the Higher School. The textbook of ideology is to be published in the near future. The new subject is not introduced in schools and high schools, though, according to Nadzieja Hanuschenka, “the ideological constituent of the programs of study is to be reinforced there”.
