Italian Investment Influx to Belarus Limited By a Number Of Factors – Italian Ambassador 12:26, 03/03/2004
Attraction of Italian investments to Belarusian economy is restrained by a number of macro economical and structural factors, typical for Belarus. This opinion was expressed by Italian Ambassador in Belarus Guillermo Ardiccone. “It is very difficult for Italian businessmen to make up their minds to invest in Belarusian economy,” – G. Ardiccone established, referring to the view of Italian business representatives.
As a major problem of investment climate in Belarus he marked out “inadequate development of private sector and lack of correspondence to international standards in investment return”.
G. Ardiccone explained, that “Italian businessmen consider that Belarusian legislation is very difficult, not corresponding to European standards”. “These factors complicate the decision to invest in Belarusian economy,” he said.
