Belarusian TV and BRYU Prepare Attack Against Zubr
11:31, 05/03/2004

As the press center of the youth movement “Zubr” found out that today a group of the BRYU members are to be taken to Minsk from Baranavichy. They are to go to the Belarusian state TV, where they are to appear in the evening program news summary “Panorama” (or its “analytical” part “Postscript”). 15 young people will be pressed to speak in front of the TV cameras, that there was no incident in their town, when a BRYU branch in the light industry college joined the Zubr movement, that it was a provocation and fabrication. In Baranavichy, as Radio Svaboda informs, pressure on the activists of the Zubr movement from the BRYU started.

In his interview to Radio Svaboda Nikita Sasim, who still considers himself head of the BRYU branch in the college and is Zubr activist, informs about the pressure of the authorities that reinforced:

_ Yes, we are oppressed. They say that Zubr is almost terrorist organization, that it is a prohibited organization. That is why it is obvious that somebody is afraid of us. But many people still support me.

Nikita Sasim proved that people who took part in that famous meeting are now pressed to write statements to revoke their votes.

Now the BRYU leadership tries to dismiss Nikita Sasim from the position of the head of the branch. They allege that he I dismissed already, and that a new chairperson should be elected.
