On March 4, judge of the Lenin district court of Minsk Elena Tserashkova sentenced a member of the liquidated human rights association “Center Viasna” Uladzimir Labkovich to a fine of 10 basic units.
Uladzimir Labkovich was accused of violation of the article 166 of the Administrative Code “for disobedience to the legal demands of police officers”. On October 28 he took part in the protest action staged in the Supreme Court against liquidation of the human rights center “Viasna”. Next day the right of Labkovich for legal proceedings in Belarusian language was violated. The court decision on October 29 was appealed against in the Minsk city court, that found the ruling unlawful. The case was directed to the Lenin district court for reconsideration, www.belngo.info informs.
