Nikita Sasim Spent a Night Behind Bars 10:39, 10/03/2004
Two activists of Zubr movement who were detained yesterday afternoon in Baranavichy, spent a night in prison. The leader of the rebellious branch of the BRYU, Zubr activist Nikita Sasim, and Zubr activists Andrei Chyzh and Katsyaryna Bankevich were detained yesterday afternoon fro handing out leaflets in Baranavichy college of light industry. Young people were taken to the police station, where reports have been drawn up for violation of article 156 of Administrative code (petty hooliganism). About five in the evening Zubrs were taken to court. However, the trial has not taken place, and young people spent a night in prison cell groundlessly (underage Katsyaryna Bankevich was released). The consideration of cases is to take place today. Press service of Zubr resistance movement views detention of young people as illegal, aimed only for their intimidation.
