Polish Embassy in Belarus has made an official statement maintaining that on April 1 Belarusian state TV channel has put into the mouth of its notorious propagandist Evgeny Novikov in the program “Human Rights – Look at the World” an insult of Polish people and government, having called the Republic of Poland, Belarus’s closest neighbor, a “marionette state”. It has happened on the same day when Belarusian Prime Minister Syarhei Sidorsky was receiving Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Belarus, and the same state TV channel informed about it as about the major political event of the day. In this connection Polish Embassy reminds that Poland is the country where the authorities are elected in an absolutely democratic way, it the member of the Council of Europe, the country where inhabitants of the smallest settlement or village have direct and exclusive influence on the fact who represents them in their local government bodies and what decisions are accepted on their behalf. Finally, Poland is a country, which carries out an independent foreign policy. In view of that calling Poland a “marionette state” is nothing but a libel.
