Participants of the civil initiative “We remember!” have made an appeal to young Belarusian citizens. Wives and children of the disappeared Belarusian politicians called on to Belarusians to come on July 7 to the rally in remembrance of journalist Dzmitry Zavadski. “Four years ago, on July 7, 2000, a journalist of the Belarusian ORT office, cameraman Dzmitry Zavadski was abducted. He was younger than 30. He was as young, handsome and intelligent, as you are now; he had lots of plans and ideas. He wanted to live for his country, for his family, but somebody’s malicious reason prevented him from seeing his dreams come true. He was not to see his son growing. Like Yuri Zakharanka, Viktar Hanchar and Anatol Krasouski could not watch their grown-up children and new-born grandchildren,” reads the appeal. The relatives of the disappeared asked the people to come on July 7 at 5.30 p.m. to the Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk.
