Valery Fralou Continues Hunger Strike Despite Worsened State Of Health :: Charter'97 :: News

Despite of worsened state of health, deputy of the Chamber of Representatives General Valery Fralou is set to continue a hunger strike started on June 3. “The health condition is satisfactory, I am set to continue the protest,” told Valery Fralou in his interview to BelaPAN.

In June 11 the deputy was checked in the Belarusian Scientific and Practical Center “Cardiology”, where the doctors established cardiac activity worsening of the general, who some time ago had a heart attack.

Another person on strike, Viktar Ivashkevich, has high blood pressure (200-150).

Electrocardiogram of Fralou was checked on June 13 by ambulance again, and doctors told that as compared with June 11 there are no critical changes in heart system.

“As told by the doctors, who check the strikers daily, state of health of Maryna Bahdanovich is alarming as well, as her immune and cardiac systems have been affected,” told U. Dziuba.

Participants of the hunger strike, which is taking place in the apartment of Fralou in Minsk protest against a possible referendum legalizing changes in the constitution which limit a number of terms in power for one president, against Mikhail Marynich’s arrest, and demand democratization of the election code.
