75 deputies of the “chamber of representatives of the national assembly” of Belarus have signed collectively the address- demand to free former president of Yugoslavia Slobodan Milosevic. The initiator of the document was deputy head of the permanent parliamentary committee on international relations and ties with the CIS Syarhei Kastyan. In his interview to BelaPAN he reminded that on May 14 the same document was proposed for authorization to the whole “chamber of representatives”. It would have been adopted if it were not for one deputy, who voted against. As you see, many our deputies are worried a great deal by the fate of former Yugoslav president Milosevic, who is answerable for his deeds according to European law-enforcers.
But why the deputies are not so concerned with the fate of their colleagues who started a hunger strike many days ago? They have made this courageous move to improve the election code and to make it possible to carry out fair free elections, to return respect of the world to their country. The aims are noble! They are supported by parties and movements, by millions of Belarusians. Europe is observing the development of the hunger strike. And where are the Belarusian deputies? Their strong voices are not heard for some reason.
You can say that the issue proposed by general Fralou and his friends was included to the agenda of the session on June 22. But why is it so late? Speaker Papou and his assistant Kanaplyou realize that for the protesters it is difficult to survive till June 22, don’t they? Why General Chargynets is silent? Is he still a general? Why the same Khrol, Ananyeu, Kastyan are silent?
The “chamber of representatives” had not carried out thorough hearings on the progress of investigation of politically motivated disappearances. Where is Hanchar? Where is Zakharanka? Where is Zavadski? Where is Krasouski?.. These and many other questions interest Europe and the world community. And where is participation of the Belarusian deputies? They are not defending Mikhail Marynich either… They are worried by the fate of dictator Milosevic, who triggered a conflict in the Balkans, where lots of blood was shed.
Who in the world would respect and recognize such a “parliament”?
