Ambassadors of EU Countries Call On To “Respublika” Deputies to Stop Hunger Strike 16:48, 16/06/2004
Ambassadors of the countries - members of the EU visited today the participants of the hunger strike in Minsk. On the 14th day of the hunger strike heads of the diplomatic missions confirmed again that the European Union shares the concern of the “Respublika” group deputies and representatives of the political parties about the three issues that made them go on hunger strike: possible third term of Alyaksandar Lukashenka, undemocratic election code and arrest of Mikhail Marynich, one of the opposition leaders. However, out of humanity feeling, the EU countries’ Ambassadors called on to the protesters to stop the hunger strike in order to “preserve health and use all their political courage, which has been proven in practice by them, for the good of for their country”.
