Five activists of the Vitsebsk city branch of the United civil Party joined the hunger strike of the group “Respublika” in Minsk, told one of the participants of the hunger strike Ina Syatkouskaya. As said by her, the decision to participate in the protest was taken on June 14. The protesters, Ina Syatkouskaya, Ela Kanavalava, Tatsyana Zajkova and Fiodar Bakunou are in one of private apartments in Vitsebsk. “We support he deputies, and our demands are the same: “No to the third term!”, “For fair elections!” and “Free Marynich,” told I. Syatkouskaya.
The hunger strike of the MPs Syarhei Skrabets, Uladzimir Parfyanovich and Valery Fralou started on June 3. The deputies are demanding to stop political repressions and release a well-known political and public figure Mikhail Marynich, who was arrested on April 26, and to consider amendments to the electoral code aimed at democratization of the elections. In particular, they propose to change the principle of nominating election commissions, to include the representatives of political parties in them, to make rights of the observers wider and to forbid five-day early voting.
