Mikita Sasim to Give Out Bursary For Fine 16:53, 17/06/2004
Zubr activist Mikita Sasim is to give out his scholarship for the fine to which he has been sentenced by court in Polatsk. On April 12 Mikita was detained in Polatsk, and accused of acting on behalf of an unregistered organization. He was sentenced to a fine of 190 thousands rubles (about 88 dollars).
Today the activist of Zubr was detained by policemen, and accused of violation an Administrative Code, Article 166-1 (contempt of a court). Sasim was indicted for non-payment of fine. However, Baranavichy city court ruled to hold back 20 % of Sasim’s scholarship (about 9 thousands of rubles, or about 4%).
