Jewish organizations of Belarus organize an antifascist committee to fight against the threat of antisemite expansion, reported Belarusian Union of Jewish associations and societies’ vice-president Yakau Basin. The Jewish organizations of Belarus have been repeatedly complaining of the desecration acts against Jewish graves, unimpeded sale of judofobic literature. They are anxious about the closing of the only state’s university where Judaic was taught. Yakau Basin declared that the Belarusian Prosecutor’s Office and KGB do not take pains to fight against neofascist manifestations, skinheads whose activity in Belarus is absolutely open. Mr. Basin considers the state to be tolerant towards skinheads, or even to be their supporter. “The history of the 20th century witnesses that a state’s tolerant attitude towards neonascist trends will eventually lead to inevitable consequences, destructive events in the society and, ultimately, to numerous human sacrifices,” – is said in the address to the Jewish organizations Union quoted by the Svaboda Radio.
