Iosif Syaredzich: «Narodnaya Volya» Will Survive»
17:01, 05/08/2004

“Prohibition of the publication of the “Narodnaya Volya” is a result of the provocation performed by the authorities and court. Yahor Rybakou is imprisoned for many months, the Prosecutor General of the country has made a public statement that 500,000 USD acquired illegally had been confiscated from him, earlier 100,000 USD have been confiscated. But today we are to say on the pages of the newspaper that he is “the most honest man in the world”. The “Narodnaya Volya” has been attacked many times throughout ten years of work in the informational sphere. And every time this was connected with some referendum, or some “All-Belarusian Assembly”, or with elections. Two times we were in “emigration”, printed in Lithuania. We were deprived of all means of subsistence. However, the “NV” lived and is going to live,” told Iosif Syaredzich today at the press conference. Iosif Syaredzich is the editor-in-chief of the non-state newspaper “Narodnaya Volya”, which publication has been stopped today by officers of the court, who arrestedits bank account and paper for the new issue.
