Candidate of BPF Party Deprived of Registration 12:45, 07/10/2004
The candidate from Belarusian People’s Front Lera Som was deprived of registration because of two warnings that were issued by circuit election commission. The first of them concerned the fact that she didn’t take a rest at her own expense for the period of activity that was connected with her nomination as candidate (this is juridical nonsense, because the law also states that one can take leave of absence only on his/her free will). The second warning is for violation of the order of agitation – the circuit election commission composed an act that members of the initiative group of the candidate allegedly distributed fly-sheets of the People’s coalition “5+” against the third presidential term to A. Lukashenka.
