Election Agents of a Candidate Not Allowed See Ballots Counting 22:23, 17/10/2004
Alyaksey Mikhalevich and Vyachaslaw Sivchyk, two agents of a candidate Kanstantsin Lukashow, running in the constituency number 109 of Uruchcha district of Minsk, were not allowed to be present by votes counting.
As the BelaPAN was informed by A.Mikhallevich, the accident took place at the 596th constituency in the building of the secondary school number 197. “We were shown a place 20 meters away from the table where the votes are counted. We told that we shall stand behind the backs of the members of the election commission. After that we where expelled by policemen, and no observers were left at the polling station any more,” told A.Mikhalevich.
34-year-old ecologist Lukashow is running as a non-party candidate. His rival is a 46-year-old present deputy of the chamber of representatives Viktor Marakhin.
