Lukashenka’s Representative In Russia Named Belarusian Regime "Authoritarian" 12:59, 05/11/2004
Yesterday deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, plenipotentiary representative of the President of Belarus in Russia and CIS countries Vasily Dalhalyow (Vasiliy Dolgoliov). He met the leadership of the region, visited a number of plant facilities, and held a press conference for journalists.
As information agency Regnum reports, at the press conference Dalhalyow highly praised the level of cooperation between Pskov region and Belarus. Answering to the question of journalists, why a short time ago Alyaksandr Lukashenka had given a low estimation to the economic situation in Pskov region, Dalhalyow told that according to his personal opinion, in Pskov region people live better then in Belarus. He told that enterprises he visited made a good impression on him, and the only thing he didn’t like was the condition of the roads in the region.
Characterizing the situation in Belarus, Dalhalyow twice noted that “authoritarian regime” had been established in his country. Its expediency was explained by Lukashenka’s representative by the fact that the Belarusian people “like somebody to care for them”.
