Young Front and Belarusian Party of Freedom and Progress Joined the European Coalition “Free Belarus”

On November 8 a Coordination committee meeting of the European coalition “Free Belarus”. At the meeting new members joined the coalition, among them the Young Front (chairman – Paval Sevyarynets) and the Belarusian Party of Freedom and Progress (chairman – Uladzimir Navasyad). Paval Sevyarynets was allotted to the Coordination Committee of the coalition.

At the meeting the members of the Coordination Committee discussed results of the elections and referendum, discussed the questions of strategy of coalition. Besides, they urged representatives of all democratic forces of Belarus to unite at the European platform.

According to the results of the estimate, from 107 members of the coalition who were nominated at these elections, only 36 were registered. Others were either denied registration, or they were removed from the election race.

The coordination committee of he European coalition noted that recent parliamentary elections and referendum were turned into a farce, during which there were no vote counting, instead the authorities announced the ready figures.

The Coordination committee of the European coalition “Free Belarus” also demanded to release political prisoners: Valery Levanewski, Alyaksandr Vasilyew and Mikhail Marynich. Besides, the committee expressed indignation at barred entry to the head of the Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine Office of the F. Ebert Foundation, Helmut Kurt. These actions of the Belarusian authorities, underlined the European coalition “Free Belarus”, damage the relations of Belarus and Europe.
