14:23, 09/11/2004

Camera crew of Russian office of French TV channel TF1 was deprived of accreditation for biased coverage of events in Belarus. It is the official phrasing of Belarusian FM. As Foreign Ministry press secretary Andrei Savinykh told to newspaper Pahonya, “information about illegal activities of the camera crew was received from sources of expertise”. French journalists were shooting protest action of youth movement Zubr on November 5. Activists put up a banner “Lukashenka as lost”, protesting against the rigged results of referendum and elections carried out on October 17.

As said by Andrei Savinykh, FM would not issue any official document in connection of cancelled accreditation of French journalists, as they have left Belarus. Besides, he told that the term of accreditation of TF1 channel had expired several days before, and the TV1 had not applied with a request to extend accreditation.
