On Saturday night unknown attempted to break in to the flat of local human rights activist Ales Abramovich. Mr. Abramovich considers this to be an initiative of local law enforcing agencies.
The incident, according to Mr. Abramovich, took place at 2 a.m.
“They demanded to open the door without giving any explanations. I called my forends-journalists, including the editor-in-chief of the “Barysawskija Naviny” Anatol Bukas. He advised not to open the door. I followed his advice. They went away. I saw the plates of police cars”.
Human rights activist turned for help to Barysaw Office of General Public Prosecutor.
“It is a demonstrative intimidation. There was a challenging article in the “Barysawskija Naviny”. In my article I charged the Belarusian authorities with arms trade with Iraq,” told human rights activist to Radio Svaboda.
