Viktor Yushchenko Supporters Continue Rally On Maidan 12:47, 22/11/2004
A rally that has gathered thousands of supporters of Viktor Yushchenko, leader of the “Our Ukraine” bloc, continued today at 9 a.m. in the Independence Square (Maidan Nezalezhnosti) in Kyiv. The participants of the mass meeting are holding flags with election campaign’s cembols. Police do not interfere, the Ukrainski Novivi informs.
It is also informed that all employees of the enterprise “Kyiv Polygraphmach” joint-stock company from Kyiv are going to join the rally. The work of the enterprise has been stopped, and workers will participate in the meeting.
The recent information is that tens of thousands of people have gathered at the square already.
The tent camp at the Independence Square put up by Yushchenko’s supporters continues its existence. At the main square of the capital 27 tents were set up, and the parallel vote count is going on there.
A tent camp was settled in front of the building of the Conservatory by the “Pora” campaign representatives. They have put up 13 tents. They live in 11 of them, and 2 are for a storehouse.
Participants of the action are going to stay in the tent camp until the final results of the vote announced.
Yesterday, a meeting of many thousands of Viktor Yushchenko’s supporters, that according to the organizers gathered about 30,000 people, finished without any incidents.
