Russia projects next year’s gas exports to Belarus at 18.6 bcm, Gazprom source says 11:19, 22/11/2004
The Russian government projects the amount of next year’s gas deliveries to Belarus at 18.6 billion cubic meters, a source with the gas giant Gazprom told BelaPAN.
The amount is far short of the expectations of Belarus that would like to import 21.5 billion cubic meters in 2005.
A rise in the projected gas supply will depend on the technical capacity of pipelines, according to the source.
Belarus’ first deputy prime minister, Vladimir Semashko, said earlier this week that next year’s gas supply contract with Gazprom would be signed in December. According to him, the Russian company has agreed to raise its gas deliveries to Belarus to 20.5 billion cubic meters.
