Addressing thousands of people who gathered in the Independence Square in Kyiv, opposition candidate for presidency Viktor Yushchenko called upon the Ukrainians for organized resistance movement to protect honest elections. Yulia Tymoshenko urges everybody to stop their work and studies and start a strike, the Ukrainski Novini informs.
In his address Viktor Yushchenko demanded the Central Election Committee to revoke the results of the elections in certain polling stations in Donetsk and Lugansk regions, where opposition representatives were not allowed to participate in the work of the election commissions, where the opposition’s observers and international observers were not allowed to monitor the process, and also at the polling stations where more than 10% of electors cast their votes outside polling stations.
Yushchenko also appealed to the Ukrainians to start non-term protest action until the veracious results of the elections announced.
He accused the authorities of trying to rig the elections returns, and called upon the people who gathered at the Independence Square do not disband and continue protests until the victory. Besides, Viktor Yushchenko urges his supporters to start tent camps through the whole Khreshatyk (main Kyiv Street), as well as in every regional center of Ukraine.
“The time has come to start tent camps throughout Ukraine. We start organized protest actions,” he told.
Yushchenko also called upon everybody to support protesters in tent camps. “As honest-minded people, we are to endure this hard exam, and wait until the victory. Everything has just begun!”
