This year’s trade in agricultural produce between Belarus and Moscow reported to total $180 million 12:10, 28/12/2004
Trade in agricultural produce between Belarus and Moscow has reached a $180-million mark this year, said a Moscow government official, according to Russian news agencies.
Viktor Olkhovoi, first deputy head of the Moscow government`s Food Resources Department, reportedly said that Belarus` food deliveries have accounted for almost the entire amount. The Russian capital has bought 25,000 tons of meat and some 11,000 tons of hard cheeses from Belarus this year, according to Mr. Olkhovoi.
The official said that the following year’s trade in agricultural produce between Belarus and Moscow was projected to increase by 30 percent.
Overall trade between the country and the Russian capital in 2004 has reportedly totaled $6 billion.
